One of the most beautiful and varied parks in Tanzania, and close enough to Arusha to enjoy properly in a day. Three things make it special: Mount Meru, which at 4,566m is the second-highest peak in the country; the alkaline Momella Lakes and their flamingos; and the Ngurdoto Crater, formed roughly fifteen million years ago. Oh, and it's one of the few parks where you can get out and walk.
