Lake Manyara — escarpment lodges
Good to know: this page describes a type of place, not one property.
The camp we actually book depends on your dates, your budget and what's free when we
quote, so the useful part here is the decision. Your shortlist of named camps comes
with your itinerary.

The escarpment above Manyara gives you a long view down the Rift and over the lake. It's a short drive to the park gate, and it makes a natural first or last night on the northern circuit.
Manyara is a half-day park, not a two-day one, so honestly, a night here works best as a first stop. It's a short drive from Arusha, there's a view down the length of the Rift Valley, and it's a gentle start before the long days begin.
The trade-off: the view is from the escarpment above the park, so you'll drive down to the gate each morning. Some people would rather skip the night altogether and see Manyara as a stop on the way to the crater. Both are good options, and we'll ask which you'd prefer.
